We are called to know, love and serve God. Deepening our knowledge of our faith nourishes us, enhances our relationship with our Heavenly Father and equips us to share the Good News. Learning about our rich Catholic faith is a life-long journey and does not end once we are confirmed. Bible study at St. Catherine’s is aimed at helping adults increase knowledge of the Catholic faith so that we may glorify God. Please register at the parish office.
We are blessed this year to be bringing our newest member, Carri Legg, into the Church at the Easter Vigil, April 19th, in Sidney. Carri has been studying the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults for over a year with a sincere and devout interest in our faith. Keep Carri in your prayers as she undergoes one of the last portions of RCIA prior to her Baptism and Confirmation at the Easter Vigil. She will also be presenting her son, Esau Legg, who will be Baptized with her at the same time. It is a joyous celebration for us all.
There are many volunteer opportunities in religious education. Check with the parish office to see where you may be needed.
- Early Bird Bible Study meets on Thursday mornings from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM. Come for good coffee, wonderful fellowship and nourishing faith study. EVERYONE is welcome! Registration is not required. Coming at 7:00 AM is commitment enough!
- “Living the Eucharist”, part 2 of a three year/three part study on the Eucharist, begins the first week in Lent, right after Ash Wednesday, March 5th. See Harriet in the office if you are interested in this study. There will be at least one other study group besides the Early Bird group that will be doing this program.
- “Rediscovering Catholicism” is our newest faith study group. Based on a book of the same name by Matthew Kelly, this study will provide dynamic discussion on the cores of our faith. Matthew Kelly is a well known and highly respected speaker on the Catholic faith, and is well known in our own Diocese. See Sherri Hardy if you are interested in this group. They have generally been meeting after Mass on Sundays.
